Community Guidelines

1. Privacy comes first

Do not share information that identifies or makes it easy to identify a private person, including yourself.

That includes:

• Real names, initials, usernames, email addresses, and phone numbers
• Home addresses, live locations, license plates, or travel plans
• Schools, workplaces, small organizations, teams, and exact neighbourhoods
• Exact dates, rare roles, distinctive details, or combinations of facts that point to one person
• Screenshots, photos, recordings, documents, or links that reveal private conversations or identities

Use broad wording such as someone I dated, a coworker at an old job, or a relative. Redacting a name does not make a screenshot safe if other details remain visible. See Anonymous story sharing for worked examples.

2. Be direct, not cruel

Strong opinions and hard truths are allowed. The following are not:

• Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse
• Slurs, hateful conduct, or attacks based on protected or personal characteristics
• Encouraging self-harm, suicide, eating-disorder behaviour, or violence
• Dogpiling, repeated unwanted contact, or using multiple accounts to continue a conflict
• Sexual harassment, degrading sexual commentary, or coercive behaviour
• Celebrating or encouraging abuse, exploitation, or cruelty

Critique the choice or behaviour described. Do not treat a person as entertainment or a target.

3. Never mobilize the crowd

Do not ask members to find, identify, investigate, contact, review-bomb, shame, report elsewhere, threaten, or retaliate against a real person or organization.

Do not offer rewards for identifying someone. Do not post clues so other members can "figure it out."

4. No exploitative or illegal content

Do not post or request:

• Sexual content involving anyone under 18, or content that sexualizes a minor
• Non-consensual intimate images, hidden-camera material, or threats to share intimate content
• Instructions, offers, or coordination for serious wrongdoing
• Trafficking, exploitation, extortion, fraud, scams, or stolen credentials
• Credible threats or content intended to facilitate violence

Apparent child sexual abuse material or credible threats may be preserved and reported where required by law. Do not repost harmful material in order to report it; use the reporting tools and provide the minimum context needed.

5. Respect consent in messages

Message requests are invitations, not obligations.

• Accept "no" and silence.
• Do not repeatedly contact someone from new accounts.
• Do not ask for real names, addresses, passwords, financial information, or intimate images.
• Do not move a conversation off-platform through pressure or deception.
• Do not assume a disappearing-message setting prevents screenshots or copies.

Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Keep private information out of them.

6. Be authentic without impersonating

You may protect your identity and generalize details. You may not impersonate a real person, falsely claim to represent Spill Sisters, fabricate evidence to target someone, or use coordinated accounts to manipulate conversations.

Satire or fictional scenarios must not be used to expose, defame, or harass an identifiable person.

7. Keep the service usable

No spam, repetitive promotion, scams, malicious links, malware, credential collection, scraping, automated account creation, vote manipulation, ban evasion, or attempts to disrupt or reverse engineer the service beyond what the law permits.

Do not post content you do not have the right to share. Give credit where appropriate, and do not use Spill Sisters to distribute copyrighted material unlawfully.

8. Do not present harmful misinformation as professional advice

Personal experience and opinion are welcome. Do not impersonate a professional, guarantee outcomes, or pressure someone to ignore urgent medical, legal, financial, or safety help.

Spill Sisters is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, encourage them to contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service. See the Safety guide.

Reporting

Report a post, comment, profile, message, or message request when it reveals too much, targets someone, or breaks these Guidelines. Include only enough information for moderators to locate and understand the issue.

Do not submit a false report to punish someone for disagreeing with you. Reports may include the reported content, the reason supplied, relevant account context, and related moderation history.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, context, history, and risk, Spill Sisters may:

• Add a privacy warning or limit a feature
• Hide or remove content or media
• Close a report with no action
• Warn, restrict, suspend, or ban an account
• Prevent new accounts used to evade enforcement
• Preserve limited safety records
• Contact appropriate authorities when required by law or when we reasonably believe it is necessary to address an imminent threat

We may act without advance notice when delay could increase harm. We may also take no action when content does not violate these Guidelines, even if it is unpopular or upsetting.

For a moderation question or appeal, email support@spillsisters.com from the address connected to your account. Include your alias, the relevant Case File or report link, and a short explanation. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary private information.
